Highest temperature record broken – again

At 17:38 on August 1st 2013, the temperature at Bracken House reached 29.9°C. This was the highest temperature ever recorded here, beating the previous best of 29.0°C set on July 13th 2013. The previous best for an August day was 26.4°C recorded on August 3rd 2011.

The average temperature for the day was 21.7°C, compared to an August mean temperature of 15.3°C.

The maximum heat index record was also broken with a recording of 32.2°C at 17:28. This easily beat the previous best of 30.2°C set on July 22nd 2013.
